These fire starters are made from the bits of waste that result from making beeswax candles. Within the bundles are bits of beeswax, paper, and cotton, as well as collected twigs and intentionally selected plants. Paper is wrapped around each bundle and then it is sealed with beeswax.

The twigs that are used are fallen branches from the overgrown apple orchard on the land where Golden Hill Candles is located. The paper that is used to wrap the bundles is kraft paper received in packages. Each bundle contains one type of plant that was grown at the candle studio or foraged for in the wilds of Vermont.
