Fallen maple trees in early stages of decay are upcycled into remarkable spalted bowls with a smooth grain and light hue, ranging in size. Our bowls are sustainably sourced, handcrafted, and unique masterpieces in New England, drawn from the beloved maple tree's wood, syrup, and vibrant fall foliage.

Spencer is always on the lookout for fallen trees rotting in the woods of central New England. Hidden in those fallen trees is wood disfigured by the beginnings of decomposition. His process of turning that wood on a lathe, followed by drying, sanding, and finishing with natural products, results in these striking bowls. Each bowl creates its own unique story, from the forest, to the lathe, to your kitchen or dining table.
